In Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, law enforcement officials apprehended a 24-year-old man on Thursday in connection with a rape case involving a woman who was allegedly drugged. The police confirmed the arrest.
According to authorities, the victim filed a complaint at the Loni Border police station, claiming that Prashant Chautala had deceived her into believing they would marry, which led to the assault.
Ankur Vihar's Additional Police Commissioner, Gyan Prakash Rai, stated that the suspect was taken into custody near the Loni bus depot. The police reported that Chautala admitted to having known the woman, with whom he had communicated both via phone and in person. He allegedly engaged in sexual relations with her multiple times under the false pretense of marriage.
The police have registered a case regarding the incident, and the victim has undergone a medical examination. Following the arrest, the accused was presented in a local court, which ordered him to be remanded to jail.
